Over the years in my career I’ve worked in Oral Surgery at Glasgow Dental Hospital, Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, City Hospital, Nottingham, Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, and Derby City Hospital with more than 10,000 oral surgery procedures to date. I am also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, a General Dental Council Specialist in Oral Surgery and a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology. I was elected to this position two years ago and I’m one of only 15 Fellows in the UK and one of 2,500 worldwide so it’s an achievement I’m particularly proud of. I am also a member of the Association of Dental Implantology - www.adi.org

At present I have my own Oral Surgery and Implant Referral Practice and currently place in the region of 200 implants per year, carrying out all aspects of implant dentistry, including intra-oral bone grafting for large reconstructions. In addition, my practice also offers all aspects of minor oral surgery and I currently have two Oral Surgeons and a Restorative colleague working alongside me. On the education side, I provide mentoring services for General Dental Practitioners keen to become involved in implant dentistry - both within my Practice and dentists' own surgeries.

I have been providing courses for General Dental Practitioners for ten years and have extensive experience in providing courses for General Dentists, Specialists in Oral Surgery, Dental Nurses, Dental Technicians and Vocational Dental Practitioners. In fact, my teaching has taken me all round the country from the South to the North and most places in between.

I'm responsible for constructing various courses for the Straumann Dental Implant System, including a Basic Surgical Skills Course, a Basic, Advanced and Update Course for Nurses, a Medical Legal Course and many different one-off courses to introduce and encourage dentists to become involved in implant dentistry.

Plus, I have been involved in Medical Legal work for five years - both for the Defence in Medical Legal cases and for the Prosecution in criminal cases. I have been an Expert Witness for the NHS Counter Fraud Service and an Expert Witness for The Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland, Dental Protection and RadcliffesLeBrasseur, the largest firm of Defence Solicitors in Medical Legal matters in the United Kingdom.
Last but not least, I have also developed and run a Medical Legal Course for Implant Practitioners and for the International Team for Implantology and have spoken on Medical Legal matters on many occasions.
